CONTEXT

FAMUFEST is one of Central Europe’s most prominent student film festivals, serving as an essential launchpad for emerging cinematic talent. The challenge for its 42nd edition was to build a concept and visual identity around the central theme „Jízda“ (Ride) — capturing the raw energy, unpredictability, and ambition of young filmmakers while creating a cohesive, high-impact festival communication system.

APPROACH

The visual language is driven by the multifaceted meaning of „Jízda“ — interpreted through speed, adrenaline, risk, sports, and intense nightlife euphoria. Rather than relying on generic film festival tropes, we built the identity around authentic, dynamic photography paired with bold, unapologetic headline slogans like „Ride or Die“. In motion and layout design, we focused on dynamic shifts in composition, where text and imagery collide, split, and slide in sync with the festival's relentless tempo. This flexible grid and kinetic typography evoke the feeling of momentum, excitement, and pushing boundaries.

OUTCOME

The identity presents FAMUFEST 42 as a bold, contemporary cultural event that resonates directly with a young, progressive audience. By combining visceral photographic storytelling with aggressive typographic motion, the campaign transforms the festival from a standard student showcase into an exhilarating cinematic ride.
